About Jessica

I love to teach

My first passion is teaching. I love teaching babies, adults, and everyone in between. This passion led me to pursue a master’s degree in early childhood education and a teacher’s certification in early childhood special education. I also have a K-6 elementary teaching license. I spent a number of years working for an education think tank where I wrote about early education policy while pursuing my master’s degree. When I graduated, I taught in the public schools for a year before leaving to stay home with my first baby.

When I started looking into schools for that first baby, I realized that I wasn’t thrilled with any of the options out there. He was a tricky kid and I was exhausted thinking of the work that would need to be done to find the right educational fit for him. As an inveterate DIYer, I decided I would just do this myself as well.

That was nine years ago. I am now a homeschooling mom of 4.

About Inspired Homeschooling

I think you're awesome

Inspired Homeschooling was born out of my passion for connecting with and encouraging other women. I really am blessed to know a lot of amazing women. They are intelligent, thoughtful, kind, passionate, hard-working, generous, resourceful, and creative. They are loving mothers, devoted wives, and a great many of them are passionate homeschoolers. I do not get to spend nearly enough time with any of them. The Inspired Homeschooling Workshops and Mini-Retreats are my attempt to get to spend more time encouraging and learning from these beautiful women. I also offer private homeschool consultation services for those wanting some one-on-one guidance on their homeschooling journey. Homeschooling is not "one-size-fits-all" and my consultations recognize and honor the unique needs of each individual homeschooling child and family.
